Dhulikhel is an ancient town located 30 K.m. east of Kathmandu on the side of the Arniko highway. The town is the settlement of Newars and offers a traditional atmosphere along with spectacular views. Yet, today it is important main trade route to Tibet via high passes of Himalayas for Kathmandu. Dhullikhel has a glorious past which can be seen in the lovely buildings and intricate wood carvings in the shop-lined streets and temples.
